PoCA List (Protection of Children Act 1999)

Amended April 2010

The Protection of Children Act 1999 introduced the Protection of Children Act (PoCA) List on which the Secretary of State recorded the names of individuals who were considered unsuitable to work with children. Since October 2009, this list has been superceded under the Vetting and Barring Scheme by the Independent Safeguarding Authority's Children's Barred List.
