Working Together to Safeguard Children
Amended April 2010
Working Together to Safeguard Children is a Government publication which sets out detailed statutory guidance about the role, function and composition of Local Safeguarding Children Boards, the roles and responsibilities of their member agencies in safeguarding children within their areas and the actions that should be taken where there are concerns that children have suffered or are at risk of suffering Significant Harm. It sets out how organisations and individuals should work together to Safeguard and Promote the Welfare of Children.
The most recent guidance was published in March 2010 following the publication of Lord Laming's report, the Protection of Children in England: A Progress Report, in March 2009. The majority of the guidance is statutory and took immediate effect.
